How to obtain a visa for Bali, Indonesia

1. Visa On Arrival in Bali (up to 60 days)

The Visa on Arrival (VOA) is ideal for Romanian citizens visiting Bali for vacations of up to 30 days. If you plan to stay longer, the visa can be extended to 60 days.

• Methods of obtaining: VOA can be requested upon arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali or through the new e-VOA system introduced at the end of 2022.
• Validity: 30 days, with the possibility of extension for an additional 30 days.
• Cost: 35 USD, payable in IDR, EUR, AUD, or USD. It is recommended to have cash at the airport.

2. B211A Visa (Perfect for Digital Nomads)

The B211A Visa is ideal for those who wish to stay in Bali for more than 60 days and for countries that do not qualify for the VOA.

• Validity: 60 days, with the possibility of extending twice, each extension being 60 days (up to a total of 180 days).
• Types: B211A Onshore (applicable while you are in Bali) and B211A Offshore (applicable before arrival).
• Cost: Varies between 270-300 USD, depending on the agency used.

Visa Requirements

• Visa on Arrival:
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months.
  • Return or onward travel ticket.
  • Sufficient funds for the stay.

• B211A Visa:
  • Passport valid for at least 12 months.
  • Receipt of a departure flight no later than 60 days after arrival.
  • Funds of 2000 USD (although not all visa agencies require this).

Visa Extension in Bali

• VOA Extension: It can be done either through a visa agent or on your own. Using an agent is more expensive but less time-consuming. On your own, you need to visit the immigration office three times over about ten days.
• B211A Extension: You need to visit the immigration office for a photo and fingerprints.

Island Fee

Starting February 14, 2024, Bali introduced an island fee of 10 USD (or 150,000 IDR) for international visitors, aimed at conserving the island’s nature and cultural heritage. This can be paid upon arrival at the airport or online.

Customs Declaration

When entering Bali, a customs declaration must be completed. If you don’t want to wait in line, it can also be completed online at least 3 days before arriving in Bali here.
